Master of Architecture student at the university of Melbourne. Architecture extends beyond the construct of buildings and into our everyday lives. From religious buildings to schools, hospitals and even pavilions, the urban fabric of our cities is defined by architects, and I want to be part of the shaping of our future. Growing up in Singapore, urban developments have grown exponentially throughout the island over the past few decades. While some lament about the end of the “kampong” (term used for traditional villages) days, others welcome these developments with open arms. I believe however, that a strong community spirit and growth in our urban infrastructure do not have to be mutually exclusive.
